Wow!  This is the coldest weather that I can remember.  Today the windchill was -30 degrees!  That’s insane and nobody should have to go outside, but of course, being hearty Minnesotan’s we go on with our day as usual.  I have to say though, I’ve had a chill in me all day.  Can’t wait to snuggle up with my warm blanket tonight.

Today we “puppy-sat” our neighbors new little dog.  They have a five week old female English Pointer named Bailey.  She looks very much like Jazz,  but is black & white.  She even has a spot on her tail like Jazz.  She pooped & peed a couple of times on the carpet during her four hour visit.  This is just a reminder of how I don’t want any more dogs in this house.  She’s very cute, but it is nice that we can return her to her own parents.

Last night my friend Dawn came over and we had a night of scrapbooking.  I hadn’t scrapbooked since October, so I literally had to get a sponge and wipe off the dust on my scrapbook.  How sad is that?  It felt good to get some pages done  and hopefully this will kick start me once again.  I”m a year behind in my pictures.

I took Kelly & her friend Krya, over to the indoor swimming pool today.  The smell of chlorine was intoxicating and the warmth in that building felt so good after all this cold weather we’ve had to endure.  I read a book for about an hour and then switched to my Ipod.   I put on my headphones and just imagined I was outside in a lounge chair soaking up the rays of the sun.

I hope you get a chance to relax too~

Happy days are here again…..our “big old frig. has finally reached it’s destination.  We’re so glad to have it.   It’s even bigger than I remember it being.  To quote my friend Kim (from work), “that refrigerator is the Cadillac of refrigerators.”  I love it.

Okay, so are we all in agreement that the Packers are  going to make it to the SuperBowl this year?  It’s looking pretty good so far and they keep getting home field advantage. What can we do about this?  I’ve ran out of ideas, so I’ve asked “The King!”

We had our first weekend of entertaining since the remodel and it went oh, so sweet!  Nate’s parents were here (and still are).  We felt like we had so much more room.   Cardell said, “now you can spy on all of us while you’re in the kitchen.”  I told him that we had camera’s installed last week too.

Have a good week.   ~ Go Wild!

Has anyone been affected with the writer’s strike besides Peggy & Me?  Our favorite shows are not on and every now and then, they slip in a new one when you’re not prepared, so you miss it.  So because of this strike, I have taken up reading, once again.  I am currently reading, The Hobbit.  Nate told me he had to read this in sixth grade.  I guess you could say it’s an easy read but I’m really enjoying it.  It’s fun, cute and has alot of adventure in it.  I give it a thumbs up and I’m not even through yet.  So get those reading glasses on everyone, and pick up a book!

We have finally finished getting everything back into the house and it was so wonderful to sit at our table for dinner tonight.  I made a beef stew for dinner to kick off our the new kitchen.  It tasted the same as it would have in the old kitchen, but it sure was fun making it!

I’m looking forward to doing nothing but relaxing next weekend.  Have a good week!

Happy New Year!

I’m going to start out by quoting my husband from last night, “Yay, we made it another year!”   I hope everyone had a fun night and I’m sure most of us watched the ball drop from Time Square.  We actually watched it at midnight (Minnesota time), so that was fun.  We also got to see Dick Clark on tv….yikes!!  It may be time for him to retire and watch from home.

The girls and I got up and watched the Tournament of Roses Parade, which is my favorite parade.  I’m amazed every year and how beautiful these floats are and all the technology that goes into them.  Incredible!  I hope to someday see this parade “in person.”   Of course, this is also the biggest football day of the year, so Nate is camped out on the couch already watching the Badgers play Tennessee.  A lazy day for all.    Enjoy~
