Season Ender
When one season comes to an end, another will begin. That is what happened tonight as we sat and watched our Minnesota Twins sit on their butts and do nothing at an important tie-breaker game against the Chicago White Sox. They just didn’t seem to have any enthusiasm to play. I guess the regular season was enough. We can’t stay mad though, they did play a good season and as my husband tells me all the time, they weren’t even expected to play as well as they did. So hats off to our Minnesota Twins for giving us an exciting baseball season!
Now it’s time for me to pull out that Wild jersey! Let’s…..Play…..Hockey!!!!!!
Mums the word
October first is just around the corner and today seemed to be the perfect fall day to go out and buy some Mums. The crisp Autumn air felt nice and having sunshine to go along with it, was perfect for hanging out at Mark & Peggy’s greenhouses. As we drove over to Shakopee, we noticed quite a few trees started to change and some leaves already on the ground. I wish this season could last as long as winter does. I guess that’s why I take fall pictures, so I can look back on them, on those cold winter days and be surrounded by warm colors.
Long time, no talk
It’s been a busy month as you can tell. I haven’t had much to write about either, or I’m just too tired by the end of the day. Getting back to work after having the summer off, is always a slow transition for me.
We’ve been busy going to Megan’s soccer games on Thursdays & Saturdays and taking her to practice on Mondays. They’ve been really exciting games to watch and alot of fun hanging out on the sidelines screaming with all of the other parents. Megan likes to play defense and is doing a great job. She’s improved alot since last year and is gaining confidence along the way. I hope she continues and maybe next year I’ll order that soccer picture in the form of a button so I can wear it on my coat like some of the other soccer moms.
Rain, rain, go away!
I could never live in Seattle. We’ve had two days of cloudy, rainy weather and I can’t take it any more. I need to see the sun. Did anybody else get obsessed with watching the weather channel and following hurricane Ike? The girls & I couldn’t turn it off on Friday night and that was the first thing they asked about when they woke up Saturday morning. That was an amazing hurricane and I’m glad I don’t live near the coast. All that evacuating all the time. Not for me. Have a good week and lets be thankful that we still have our roofs on our houses.
Are you ready for some football?
Favre or no Favre, Vikings stink! And that new Packer…Aaron had a good night. I don’t think it’ll last all season though. My prediction is that the pressure (and the media) will get to him soon and he’ll start to choke. Then the Vikings will pick him up in the next year or two.
First Day Back
We had a great day back at school today. The girls are happy with their teachers and loved wearing their new outfits. I felt like I had a “normal” day with no outbursts from my kids. The weather people were wrong about the rain and we were able to get out for recess and enjoy the fresh, cool air and do some catching up with our friends and co-workers. Aaah, we’ve got one day under our belt, and who knows what tomorrow will bring.
A Toast to Summer
Well, it’s here. My summer vacation is officially over tonight and tomorrow I return to the world of Autism. If you’re wondering if I’m excited to get back to work, the answer is no. The summer came and went too fast but I am grateful that I had three months to hang out with Megan & Kelly. But the party is over and it’s back to school tomorrow for another nine months. That means only 173 days left before my next summer vacation. Cheers to summer!
