Yesterday, the girls & I went out to my brother’s greenhouses to find those perfect pumpkins for Halloween. It was a beautiful fall day with the sun shining brightly. We always start out by chatting awhile with Mark & Peggy. Then there’s always play time with the dog & cat. Next, we look over the tomatoes and squash. I always have to wonder off and look at all of the baskets of mums and take photos of their beautiful colors. Then we finally get to the actual act of looking for a pumpkin to carve. It’s not just about going out, picking up a pumpkin and heading home. We like to spend a couple of hours out there on our field trip. After finding the pumpkins & gourds, we bring them all home and decorate the front of the house and some of them find their way down to the fireplace for nice decorations as well. Kelly has been doing this for a couple of years now.
This year we stopped at our local chocolate shop and bought ourselves a caramel apple to enjoy once we were through decorating. A perfect way to end the day.
