The Art Gallery

Tonight was an exciting night for Kelly.  She found out last week that one of her pieces of artwork was selected for an exhibit in our district’s, Children’s Art Festival.  There was an opening reception tonight at the Burnsville Performing Art Center with over 100 pieces of artwork from five elementary schools.

The exhibit is open to the public and will remain on view in the gallery through June 4th. That’s pretty neat and just think of how many people will see her work!  Kelly made a mask named, “Lucicia:  Goddess of Nature.”  The mask needed to be symmetrical and it’s also very colorful and creative.  Kelly wrote a short story about the meaning of her mask and why she chose certain colors and styles that are on it.  It’s very interesting and it looks great hanging up in the gallery.   I took a picture of it so you could see it.

  1. Wow! Congrats to Kelly! That’s the second time her art has been honored! What a gift you have, sweet Kelly, keep using it!

  2. Excellent, Kelly! Wish we were there to see your art work. The picture is great though. Keep up the good work! Gram
