Cheers To The Girls

Enjoying our cocktails

Tonight we took the girls out for a special dinner.  It was to celebrate their outstanding grades this past school year.  Both of them had straight A’s throughout the entire year.  We felt this was worth a reward.  Nate & I treated them to one of our favorite local upscale restaurants here in Burnsville called, Porter Creek Grill.  They have fabulous food, beautiful decor and a wonderful atmosphere.   Both girls wanted to choose this place for their birthday dinners, but we told them that it’s a bit too pricey for birthday dinners, so we surprised them tonight by coming here.  We told them that they had earned it.   Happy faces all around.

We started our evening out with some fun cocktails.  Nate & I had grownup drinks while the girls enjoyed “kiddie cocktails”.  Nate proposed a toast to the girls and their wonderful school year and to the upcoming year as well.

Martini’s & lemonades for all!

Kelly had her mind set on a steak.  She’d been craving it all day and she wasn’t disappointed.  She ordered the New York Strip, the best on the menu!  It was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth.  She was kind enough to share with all of us.  It also came with grilled vegetables and she had a fun lemonade drink to go along with it.

A heavenly plate

Megan spotted an italian dish called, Rigatoni with Italian Sausage and Four Cheeses. Mmm, how can you go wrong with that!   She also, was kind enough to share with everyone.  Nate ordered the Rotisserie Chicken that was out of this world.  It had a delicious Maple Bourbon Glaze on it and many different spices that all worked so well together.  It was so tender & juicy, that you didn’t want it to end.  I may have to order my own next time. I was in the mood for seafood, so I ordered the Farfelle and Smoked Salmon with Dill and Asparagus, in a White Cream Sauce with Lemon.   It was fabulous.

So tasty!

We didn’t have any room left for dessert, but we sure enjoyed ourselves tonight.  I think the best compliment of the night was when Kelly said, “I don’t want to leave!”

The new school year starts in a little over a week.  I’m sure Megan and Kelly will work hard again this year and I bet we’ll be back to Porter Creek Grill next summer.   Cheers!

  1. Mom—she only has curls if she uses a curling iron. Takes a long time, so she does that for special occasions.

  2. Good job girls!!!! What a fun and yummy place to celebrate!
