Costumes & Parties

We felt a little out of sorts this Halloween because we didn’t follow the tradition of our “carving the pumpkin” time together.  The girls had plenty of homework, basketball and soccer games and I had to work a few nights.  Before we knew it, Halloween night was upon us and only two pumpkins had gotten carved.  Mine and Nate’s.  We did them on separate nights and the girls never got the knife into theirs.

Megan and Kelly did have time to make their own costumes this year.  They both went out trick or treating with their friends and had a good time.  Megan was Mermaid Man and Kelly was Sully from Monsters Inc.  Very creative this year!

Now for the adult fun!  Last night was our 3rd annual HalloWine party.  As always, our friends out-did themselves when it came to the hors d’oeuvres.  Such cute and even scary halloween dishes were presented.  Take a look…

These are a few of the creations and all of them tasted wonderful!  I love just standing back and looking at all of the goodies that everyone contributed to make this a fun night.

We had a few little ones that came to our party again this year.  Heather, Jason and their twin girls arrived and all the girls cared about was playing with Jazz.  They love dogs and chased her all around the house, then she got many “treats” from them as they either fed her or dropped food on the floor.  Jazz was loving it.

Our newest member of the HalloWine party was Mason.  He is 4 months old and was a trooper for a couple of hours that he was here.  He needed to leave around 7:15 because bedtime was at 7:00.  ha!   Such a cutie and an adorable baby.  Very social too!  We like that.

My sister was also new to our party this year.  She is in town for my nephew’s wedding and she stayed with us Friday night.  I think she planned that pretty well.  She met lots of new people and got to hang out with her niece, Kelly.   Peggy was the one who created the HalloWine party and I stole her idea three years ago and started my own tradition.

Thanks Peggy!

Thanks Peggy!

I’m glad we have this party each year.  It’s so fun to get all your work people together outside of school and just have some fun.  It’s also nice to have the men with us and get to know them as well.  Everyone gets along nicely and it’s always an interesting, great night of friends, food, and wine.

Thank you everyone!

I guess it was a successful party again this year because I was very tired by the end of the night.  It was nice having my sister here to help with all the cleanup the next morning.  Thank you again Peggy!

  1. Once again, Cathy, great party!  We had a fun time and I haven’t laughed like that in a long time!  “Excuse my touch”…..shuffling…. I’m giggling again just thinking about it.
