The Burnsville Blaze celebrated homecoming this week. Each day had a dress-up theme and by Friday, it was Blaze Day, where everyone wears black & gold. I missed a couple of pictures because Megan leaves for school before I’m even awake, but she was kind enough to send some to me for the blog. Kelly was here with me, so I was able to get her as well.
It was a very fun week for everyone, unfortunately not for our football team. They lost to Minnetonka, but afterwards, everyone enjoyed the school bonfire and having a good time with their friends.
Saturday was the homecoming dance. Megan’s boyfriend, Jacob, asked her to the dance this year. They have been dating for about a month now and spend a lot of time hanging out. He’s a very nice guy and they have a lot of fun together.
Megan and her friends decided they wanted pictures taken out at Minnehaha Falls, in Minneapolis. It was a beautiful backdrop for all the pictures and a gorgeous, sunny, fall day. They had about 22 kids in their group this year, which was challenging for us parents taking pictures. The group shots took a lot of work to get everyone looking in the same direction, but everyone was very cooperative and they loved having their pictures taken.
The girls had such pretty dresses on. I think they all did a fabulous job of choosing the right style for themselves. Even the guys matched up pretty well.
I know the kids had a great time getting all dressed up, going out for dinner, then heading out to the dance. We parents had a good time as well. I love seeing all these smiling faces, laughs, and all the fooling around that this group does with each other. They make us laugh as well and they are all such wonderful people, in their own individual ways.
The day ended, with one last picture before leaving the parents and heading off to dinner. What a fabulous day!
They made reservations at a place called, Ciao Bella. A beautiful Italian restaurant in Bloomington. They had a nice, sit-down meal before dancing the night away back at the High School.
Megan ran into one of her best friends and our neighbor, Andra, at the dance. Andra is a Senior this year and will be heading to River Falls for college next year.
We are so proud of Megan. She is growing into such a wonderful person inside and out. Throughout the years, we have gotten to really know her friends and some of their families as well. It’s a lot of fun to hang out with them as well. We did manage to get a family photo before we left the park, but we just don’t seem to fit in with Megan and her sense of style. haha~
