This past week has been crazy busy, but a lot of fun. It was Burnsville’s Homecoming and the girls were dressing up each day according to the schedule. They had 80’s Day, Animal Day, Patriotic Day, Dress Your Best Day, and lastly…Blaze Day for the football game. The girls leave for school each morning before I even get up, so they were sweet enough to send me a photo each day in their attire…plus, they knew I’d want it for the blog. hehe
Friday night came and it was all about the Burnsville Blaze football game. The Blaze took on Farmington on a cool, drizzly night at the stadium. Weather never seems to be a factor for the students, they all cheered on their team to a huge victory of 42-6. Always good to win on your homecoming.
Game day is over and it’s time for the Homecoming dance and all the pretty dresses! Nate and I had to do double duty this year. It is Kelly’s first homecoming and Megan’s last. We got lucky for picture taking since both girls were in Bloomington, not far away from each other and the times were an hour apart, which allowed Nate and I to get to both. We started with Kelly at the Japanese Garden on the Normandale campus. What a nice, picturesque place for photos. Unfortunately, the sun seemed to always be in the way…or should I say, in their eyes. But we did the best we could and got some very nice photos of Kelly and her group.
We finished with Kelly’s group and headed about five minutes down the road to Megan and her group of friends. They were at the Bandshell at Normandale Park. A very pretty place as well. Megan’s group of friends have been together for Homecoming & Proms for three years now. We know al the guys and girls and they are a great group of kids. We have watched them grow and mature these high school years and couldn’t be more prouder of them all. Each is individual and a very respectful bunch.
After pictures, both girls left with their friends to get some dinner before the dance. Kelly went to a place called, Cowboy Jacks and Megan went to the Mall of America to a place called Dick’s Last Resort. Both enjoyed their dinners, and had a great time at the dance. I never get pictures of the dance and that’s okay. That tells me they’re enjoying themselves and no time to send Mom pictures. No big deal…I have my ways of finding them.
Next week, it’s back to school for a normal week of studying and those old clothes that our in their closets. Another fantastic homecoming and lots of memories for them both.
